Those who have had surgical face lifts and want their skin lifted more or again and don’t want to undergo surgery for a second time.

How does a PDO Thread Lift & Skin Booster work?

PDO Thread Lift mainly work by causing three effects:

  1. There is an immediate improvement as the skin is instantly lifted by mechanical means.
  2. Fat tissue contracts, which leads to rapid skin tightening.
  3. Treatment renews the skin at the cellular level, promoting collagen production and neovascularisation.

The combined effect of these is to produce fewer lines and wrinkles, smoother and more elastic skin and an enhanced skin texture.

What happens during treatment?

During treatment, Jing inserts the PDO Threads via a cannula, which is a small hollow needle through which the PDO Thread can pass, into the subcutaneous layer. A numbing cream is used to reduce the chances of discomfort.

Once the appropriate layer of the skin is reached, the skin is lifted, and these then act to tighten the skin, with excess threads then cut off.

Some PDO Threads have Barbs, and some are Smooth. Jing uses the Smooth type of PDO Threads, which are smaller than the barbed types, and she places them under skin, vertically and horizontally, to create a mesh. This serves as a foundation for new collagen production, and the outcomes appear natural. Fine lines gradually improve and the skin is firmer.

Jing predominantly uses MINT PDO Threads – a brand recognised as being one of the industry’s safest and effective.

Is PDO Thread treatment safe?

This treatment is very safe. PDO Threading has been used in procedures for many years and the likelihood of allergic reactions, sensitivities to the threads, or serious side effects/risks are almost non-existent. At your assessment, Jing can talk with you about how to look after your skin after any procedure and how to manage any issues that could arise.

What should I do before treatment?

PDO treatment is non-invasive, meaning there is not a great deal to prepare for. When you book an appointment for an assessment with Jing to examine the skin and talk to you about the areas of concern, Jing can explain what she thinks can be achieved and you can both go through the aftercare leaflet, which explains how to treat the skin before and after the procedure. You can take this away so that you make sure that you understand the simple measures necessary to achieve the best results.

How long does PDO treatment last?

The benefit PDO Thread Lift is that it is usually a single treatment with immediate improvements and the ultimate result achieved within two months. Treatment is usually long-lasting and varies according to factors such as age and metabolism, but usually last between 8 months to 2 years.

Am I suitable for PDO treatment?

Excellent candidates for PDO Thread Lift include those looking to correct lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation or skin laxity. Also, people looking for an instant facial lift, but wishing to avoid the cost or complications associated with a surgical facelift, would make excellent potential candidates for PDO Thread Lift.

How do proceed?

Simply book an assessment with Jing Ye, our aesthetic therapist, who will talk about your suitability for treatment, explain what she feels can be achieved, and discuss what will be involved in your specific treatment. She can explain what you need to think about and prepare for before the procedure and how to care for your skin after the procedure. There is a nominal cost for the assessment, and we can redeem this cost against the PDO procedure, should you be suitable and wish to proceed.
