Karina Bustillos

Karina graduated with a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of Montana (UM) in the United States of America (USA) and specialises in musculoskeletal and orthopedic rehabilitation, with extensive experience in managing acute and chronic conditions. Her expertise spans post-operative rehabilitation, sports-related injuries, and chronic conditions resulting from degenerative changes, and she has a special interest in treating patients with conditions affecting the shoulder, ankle, and foot, as well as tendinopathies.

Karina is an expert in clinical diagnosis, individualised education and advice, therapeutic exercise prescription, manual therapy (soft tissue massage, stretching, and joint mobilization), and the use of medical equipment to treatment to restore function, improve quality of life, and help athletes return to play. In chronic cases such as tendon problems, she has advanced knowledge and skill in using extracorporeal shockwave therapy to enhance recovery and healing. She is passionate about professional development through continuous learning and integrating the latest evidence into practice.

Karina strongly believes that treating the broader context of the patient’s case, encompassing not only the problem itself but also the psychosocial and behavioral factors, brings about lasting change for her patients.
