Shockwave + LLLT Treatment for Foot Problems
• Evidence-based for resistant foot and tendon problems
• Unique combination of shockwave and low level laser therapy
• Works by fundamentally stimulating healing and repair
Effective Treatment for Resistant Problems
Shockwave therapy is evidence-based to treat chronic tendon problems, such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy, that are resistant to other forms of therapy.
We are also one of London’s longest-established and pioneering centres for Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), sometimes referred to as “cold lasers” or “photobiomodulation”, which we use to treat chronic, resistant problems without pain or side effects.
Our 30 year reputation for always aiming to cure, not just to treat, and provide the most rapid, safe and sustained return to full fitness extends far beyond our neighbourhood and area, and we combine shockwave treatment with low level laser therapy – two evidence-based treatments working with each other at no additional cost.
To see if shockwave treatment may help, simply call and ask our team, or make an initial appointment with one of our podiatry team for an appointment to assess and talk about the best options for your problem. If shockwave is appropriate, and you would like this treatment to be given at the same appointment, you need only pay an additional £50. If shockwave therapy is not appropriate, or you would like to come back another time to receive treatment, you need only pay for the assessment.
Initial podiatry assessment is £75.
Shockwave included with initial podiatry appointment is an additional £50.
Shockwave follow-up appointments at other times is £95.
Good to know – Shockwave “Plus” is usually effective in four treatments, or fewer.
Also good to know – our team specialises in the treatment of problems that have been difficult to resolve, so please contact us today with questions about your problem and we’ll ask our team if they feel we can help.
What is Shockwave + LLLT?
Shockwave, sometimes call Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is where a steel ball is rapidly and repeatedly fired into the end of a closed tube that is held against the skin, causing a pressure wave to travel through the skin to deeper structures such as tendons or fascia, to stimulate blood flow, healing, repair and resolution.
Low level laser therapy is evidence-based with hundreds of research papers supporting over 40 years and accelerates healing and repair without pain or side effects.
We believe our application of both is unique, with the combination of low level laser therapy to work with Shockwave therapy to speed up or reboot the healing cycle.
Is Shockwave + LLLT painful?
LLLT is completely painless, though Shockwave is always uncomfortable – indeed, it’s supposed to be given near the higher end of that which you can tolerate. Don’t worry – we can adjust the settings to deliver the right amount of energy in a way that is within your own tolerance.
Is Shockwave + LLLT effective?
While no treatment in healthcare is guaranteed, and bearing in mind that we use Shockwave + LLLT on really chronic problems that might also be resistant to other treatments, it’s good to know that treatment is almost always effective, and usually within only a few visits. Our inclusion of Low Level Laser Therapy to work with Shockwave therapy makes for a powerful combination that we have yet to see elsewhere and is an example of how we pioneer therapies to help people recover as rapidly and fundamentally as possible.
