Leigham Practice has been pioneering Low Level Laser Therapy Laser (LLLT) for nearly 20 years, yet it is only in recent years, as the actual mechanism of how Low Level Laser Therapy produces the effects of healing, repair and regeneration, that interest in this field has rocketed. This technology is now one of the fastest growing sectors in healthcare and uses small amounts of infra red laser light to help painlessly treat most acute and chronic conditions, most types of pain, most wounds and ulcers and most musculoskeletal conditions.
Leigham Practice has been using this treatment with great success and we are one of London’s most experienced centres of low level laser treatment. Low Level Laser Therapy is a thoroughly researched medical treatment and one of the futures of medicine. In 2014 James Carroll, CEO of one of the World’s leading laser therapy companies, gave a presentation to the United Nations about this technology and you can find out more about this here.
LLLT should not be confused with surgical lasers, which cut and burn, and are a different classification of laser (Class 4). Low Level Laser Therapy is a Class 3b Laser, and cannot burn or harm the skin. The effects are photo-biochemical, not thermal.
We have 8 low level lasers used by our physiotherapy, osteopathy and acupuncture teams to fundamentally help a wide range of problems, but, specifically in podiatry, laser therapy achieves improved outcomes in the treatment of problems such as:
