Scott Corthine FCPodS, MA

If you are considering foot surgery Scott Corthine is a useful person to know as he is able to offer quite possibly one of the most comprehensive assessments of both the surgical and non-surgical options available for simple or complex foot problems.

On the one hand, Scott is a Podiatric (Foot) Surgeon with 20 years of surgical experience, including seven years as lead clinician with the Podiatric Surgery Department at Ealing NHS Trust. He presently sits on the Medical Advisory Committee of the Welbeck Hospital in London’s Harley Street area. Scott can discuss a wide variety of techniques for many common foot problems and has a special interest in forefoot surgery, including hallux valgus (bunions) and joint replacement. Scott is also able to administer steroid injections foot pains and can also perform intra-articular injections using advanced products, such as Ostenil, to slow or avoid the need for surgery in arthritic joints.

On the other hand, Scott is also a sports and dance injury specialist and performs biomechanical assessments and gait analysis to treat problems affecting walking, running and performance without the need for surgery. He works with many of the West End performers and producers, including the Royal Ballet School, and sits on the Performance Medicine Panel at Dance UK, the charity that looks after the interests of professional dancers. Scott also works with professional athletes from a wide range of disciplines up to Elite Level.

Of course, you don’t have to be a dancer or athlete to have foot problems. If you or your family have a foot problem and wondered if surgery could help, what surgery might involve, or find out what can be done help avoid surgery, it’s difficult to imagine a better person to see.

Assessments take place at Leigham Practice on Tuesdays afternoons and evenings and, where surgery is considered appropriate, operations can be arranged at a number of convenient Day Case locations around London, according to the individual insurance policy and personal preferences.

Self-funding clients may book in directly but customers wishing to use private health insurance should contact us before making an appointment as prior approval is required and we will be happy to guide you through the process. As a BUPA Approved Consultant, Scott is recognised by most major insurers.

The fee for self-funding clients for both biomechanical and surgical assessments are both £80
