Podiatry at the Leigham Practice

Our podiatry team consist of three podiatrists in-house offering treatment for the vast majority of foot and leg problems six days a week with two late evnings, supported by close links with a consultant podiatric surgeon.

From medical pedicures, removing hard skin and treating nail problems, though the whole spectrum of foot treatments, including discussing surgical solutions for complex foot and toe problems, it is accurate to say that, between our team, their skills, experience and treatments match or exceed some health service departments.

The core services of podiatry include the treatment of corns and callus, ingrown nails, verrucae and athlete's foot. In addition to these we provide support for foot and leg pains associated with postural or biomechanical problems, including the prescription of insoles or orthotics to improve walking or conditions such as plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel syndrome.

We assess runners and athletes with repetitive or recurring pains related to the mechanics of movement and can provide specialist orthotics to help improve performance.

We can perfom child development checks for those concerned with their child's walking and can advise on the contributions parents can make to ensure problems are correct early on.

We also have access to modern therapeutic equipment such as ultrasound and laser therapy with reduce pain and restore function quickly and effectively.
