Problems treated with Osteopathy

Types of problems treated

The types of problems osteopathy treats can start before we are born. Osteopathy looks at the postural changes that happen during pregnancy - the most sudden postural change a woman is likely to go through. Most women will go through significant physical changes during pregnancy and shifts in the alignment of bones occurs. Add together an increase in weight in the latter stages of pregnancy and this leads to pressure on the whole body, particularly the spine and lower limbs. Osteopaths can help improve postural problems and alignemnt, and so improve comfort and relieve stress. Osteopathy can also help reduce other side effects, such as heartburn, indigestion, constipation and leg pain.

Martin also practices Cranial Osteopathy which can be of great help with common baby problems such as wind or colic, or who cry or are irritable when lying down. He also helps children with asthma, musculo-skeletal problems and can help children with learning difficulties, poor concentration or behaviour problems.

Osteopaths are well known for their treatment of spine/back problems, reducing pain, restoring mobility and improving quality of life.

A wide range of problems related to sport, occupation and the work place. Injuries can be treated and, with the underlying causes identified, long term relief of problems is our goal. Martin can also help with problems associated with driving, sleeping or other posture-related concerns.
